E.R.P. is the acronym for Emergency Response Program. Does your representative, be it your insurance agent, your realtor, your builder or developer, property management company, your home owner’s association, really have an emergency response program? Do they have a disaster response program with specific procedures, in writing, and with credible, reliable, individuals that will be there when you need them?
It is difficult to predict a natural disaster or a failed system in your home. It is important to mitigate a loss due to flood, fire/smoke, or even hail for example as soon as possible. Delays can manifest into increased damage.
If you are given a 1-800-number you really have no personal investment from your representative. Shouldn’t your agent be invested in the quality of customer service you receive should you have a claim? Ask your agent if he/she or if their company has an E.R.P. You should know before you have an emerency exactly who will be handling your restoration.
